At least 10 Libyan rebels have been killed in the port of Misrata during a heavy bombardment by pro-Gaddafi forces.

Health officials say at least 24 others were wounded in the fighting.

Mohammed al-Sanousi, a doctor working in Dafniah - near Misrata - said his hospital was taking in a constant stream of casualties.

"The field hospital at Dafniah is receiving casualties' everyday and the number of casualties is between 10 to 80 per day," he said.

"We received six injuries yesterday; four of them were wounded while two were killed. This morning we received four wounded rebel fighters."

The latest attacks come after NATO pledged to continue its campaign in Libya for as long as it takes to defeat Colonel Gaddafi's forces.
