On June 2nd, a 12 year old girl named Yoo Jeha guested on SBS’s “Star King” and has been making waves on the internet ever since for her outstanding vocal talent.
Nicknamed ‘Little IU’, Yoo Jeha emerged with a cover of SpinEL’s “Chu Chu” before moving on to IU’s “Riding a Train“. As if those two covers didn’t impress panelists already, she went into an IU medley that left everyone floored with her potential.
She revealed, “My dream is to debut when I’m 15 years old. I’ve always had the dream of becoming a singer but I never wanted to be judged by anyone so I never auditioned. Although idols that sing and dance are popular right now, I hope that in three years, singers that perform live and play instruments will be more popular.”
Yoo Jeha has been reported to have been picked up by Pooky Entertainment, the same label as acoustic girl group duo SpinEL, and is preparing for a debut by the end of this year.
Through Star News, a representative of Pooky Entertainment said, “Yoo Jeha is young but has exceptional vocal and guitar skills. She’s been training consistently for three years. Her debut isn’t confirmed yet, but our goal is for the end of the year. She will be succeeding with her skills, not her age.”
